Having gotten this far in our website, I think it appears you have a fairly strong interest in the Transition UP Program and want to know what you have to do to complete the application process. There are five parts to this process:
Being qualified to be admitted to a community college or four year institution of higher learning in or near the San Fernando Valley;
Completing the online Transition UP Program application;
Having three online recommendation forms completed and submitted; and
Participating in an interview with our admissions committee.
Admittance to a Community College or Four-Year Institution of Higher Learning
All students must provide proof that they have been accepted to a local community college or institution of higher learning. If you have not as yet applied, please go to the community college or four-year institution's website and be sure that you are within the deadlines for admission.
Completing the Transition UP Program Application
The Transition UP Program application can be obtained by writing to Transition UP, Inc., 9420 Reseda Blvd., # 547, Northridge, CA 91324, or you may also click here to complete and submit an application via the internet.
Submitting Three Recommendation Forms
Students must have three (3) recommendation forms submitted by a teacher, coach, mentor, employer religious leader, or any other person who can write about your potential for succeeding at a two or four year insitution of higher education. The information should include specific examples of why you are likely to accomplish your goal of obtaining a college degree. Direct the three individuals you have chosen to the following link to complete and file the form.
Participating in an Interview
An interview with each applicant is a required part of the admissions process. It affords you, the applicant, and the Transition UP Program the opportunity to see if we will be a good fit for you. Just so you know what will happen during this get together, you will be asked to respond to the very similar questions you responded to in the application.
